Diocese of Kandy comprises the central province of Sri Lanka and is situated in the hill country. It is divided into three vicariates, namely, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Matale, which coincide with the local government administrative districts. The tea plantation sector, for which Sri Lanka is well known, covers a large part of the diocese.
