Diocese of Kandy comprises the central province of Sri Lanka and is situated in the hill country. It is divided into three vicariates, namely, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Matale, which coincide with the local government administrative districts. The tea plantation sector, for which Sri Lanka is well known, covers a large part of the diocese.

Diocesan clergy house celebrated it’s feast,feast of St.John Mary Vianney on 10th August.Very Rev.Fr.Milroy Fonseka highlighted the spiritual life of St.John Mary Vianney and said he is a man of God and a man of prayer and number of priests in the vicariate of Kandy participated for the Holy Mass.

St,Anthony’ Cathedral Kandy celebrates it’s annual feast on 13th June .Rt.Rev.Dr.Vianney Fernando celebrated the festive mass and said As we are catholic we must follow the footstep of St.Joseph Vaz and Patron saint of the diocese St.Anthony of Padua.
