Diocese of Kandy comprises the Central Province of Sri Lanka and it is situated in the hill country. It is divided into three vicariates; namely, Kandy, Nuwara Eliya and Matale, which coincide with the local government administrative districts. The tea plantation sector, for which Sri Lanka is well known, covers a large part of the diocese.
